I have to say this was a surprise. I was preparing to brine a chicken so put a cup of salt, half a cup of brown sugar, some garlic, thyme and four cans of beer (in this case a honey lager). Stirred it all up, put the chicken in and walked away for a bit. I came back to find this very structural foam (the beer foam reacted with the other ingredients).

It looked a lot better after I skimmed off the scum! The roasted chicken was magnificent.

Nothing like a fun afternoon annoying your sister…
