After an overnight rain, this large crop of fungi sprouted up. Pretty amazing that they went from spore to these meaty beasts in just hours.
On the same walk, we met a glorious new friend. This short young copperhead was snoozing in the middle of the path and didn’t really want to get out of the way, so we waited until he slithered off into the undergrowth. Not at all aggressive, but you probably don’t want to trip over him.
